چکیده
Observations from the proportional counter array experiment on board the Rossi X-Ray T iming Explorer (RXT E) of the temporal and spectral properties of the high-mass X-ray binary 2S 0114]650 are reported. We Ðnd highly variable X-ray emission modulated at a period of 2.73 hr. The temporal results indicate that 2S 0114]650 is the slowest neutron star rotator presently known. Spectral analysis reveals parameters typical of a high-mass X-ray binary system having an absorbed power law with an index of about 1.3 with a high-energy cuto† at approximately 8 keV. The introduction of a Ñuorescent iron line at 6.4 keV allowed better spectral Ðts, particularly during low states of emission. We have also determined that the intensity of 2S 0114]650 is strongly attenuated during part of the orbit, which makes it a member of the small class of eclipsing massive X-ray binaries. Evidence for a Very Slow X-ray Pulsar in 2s 0114]650 from Rossi X-ray T Iming Expl Orer All-sky Monitor Observations
Rossi X-Ray T iming Explorer (RXT E) all-sky monitor (ASM) observations of the X-ray binary 2S 0114]650 show modulations at periods close to both the optically derived orbital period (11.591 days) and proposed pulse period (D2.7 hr). The pulse period shows frequency and intensity variability during the more than 2 years of ASM observations analyzed. The pulse properties are consistent with this...

We report the results of radio and X-ray observations of the high mass X-ray binary 2S 0114+650, made with the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope and the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer respectively. No emission was detected at radio wavelengths. The neutral hydrogen column density was found to vary over the orbital period, while no variability over the the super-orbital period was observed. We discus...

We report the detection of a stable super-orbital period in the high-mass X-ray binary 2S 0114+650. Analyses of data from the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) All-Sky Monitor (ASM) from 1996 January 5 to 2004 August 25 reveal a super-orbital period of 30.7 ± 0.1 d, in addition to confirming the previously reported neutron star spin period of 2.7 h and the binary orbital period of 11.6 d. We present high-resolution spectroscopic observations of the massive X-ray binary system LS I+65 010 (2S 0114+650) in the optical wavelength region. A correlation between equivalent width and radial velocity of photospheric absorption lines is found. The systemic velocity, inferred from the weaker lines, is Vhelio −31 ± 5 km s, which, if attributed solely to the Galactic rotation curve, implies...
متن کاملA Detailed Study of 2S 0114+650 with the RXTE
We present the results of a detailed study of the high mass X-ray binary 2S 0114+650 made with the pointed instruments onboard the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer. The spectral and temporal behaviour of this source was examined over the pulse, orbital, and super-orbital timescales, covering∼2 cycles of the 30.7 d super-orbital modulation. Marginal evidence for variability of the power law photon in...
